Climate Change, Resilience & Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR)
Climate change poses a major threat to livelihoods, ecosystems, and economies in the Horn of Africa, where recurrent droughts, floods, and land degradation demand stronger adaptive capacity, climate resilience, and disaster risk management for sustainable and inclusive growth.
HPRD delivers comprehensive climate, resilience, and DRR solutions grounded in data, science, and policy. We conduct climate vulnerability and disaster risk assessments, develop country disaster and environmental profiles, and support governments in integrating climate adaptation into sectoral planning. Through policy advisory, and PPP frameworks, we promote investments in climate-smart agriculture, renewable energy, and community resilience systems that align with global frameworks such as the Paris Agreement, Sendai Framework, and SDG 13.
