Dr. Gilbert Rithaa
Health Systems and Research Policy Expert 

Gilbert is a health systems and policy research specialist with over 10 years of experience leading comprehensive policy and landscape analyses, context analysis, project studies, monitoring initiatives, and evaluations within the health, nutrition and wider social sectors including but not limited to education, food security and livelihoods, integrated water resources management and social protection. He has extensively implemented and supported cross-sectoral health care initiatives including implementation of EPHS at the community level in Kenya, Somalia, Kenya and other horn of Africa counties. Gilbert doubles as a seasoned Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning Expert having conducted multiple project designs, monitoring, evaluations and community of practice assignments in Somalia and other fragile countries. He has over 6 years of experiences providing innovative technical solutions for humanitarian development nexus across social sector disciplines. He has strong research analytical capabilities enabling him to lead complex and large scale donor/partner supported project and research assignments on health and related social science disciplines. Gilbert has published numerous health-related research articles and policy briefs in international peer reviewed journals. Gilbert has worked for multiple international and national organisations in Somalia across health, nutrition and other social sector portfolio including World Bank, AfDB, USAID, WHO, PSI, MoH, SCI, FCDO, Care International, GIZ among others.
