Data Management and Analytic Systems
Our data management team upholds rigorous quality control standards to ensure the integrity of all survey data we collect. With our recent move to SurveyToGo, we have implemented additional checks and protocols such as automated validity checks on questionnaire flow, data type and range restrictions, and mandatory completion of key questions. Our team closely monitors incoming surveys, conducts regular data audits, and thoroughly investigates any detected anomalies. Strict protocols are followed when cleaning data to prevent distortion of results or introduction of bias. You can trust that any survey data and insights we provide have undergone careful scrutiny - our dedication to quality control means actionable and accurate data for our clients.
The key points covered are:
- Rigorous quality control standards and procedures
- Additional checks enabled by SurveyToGo platform
- Monitoring of incoming surveys
- Regular auditing of collected data
- Investigation protocols for detected anomalies
- Strict cleaning protocols to maintain data integrity
- Dedication to quality control for reliable, accurate data.
HPRD has a robust in-house data management system with proven capability to collect and manage complex and multidimensional mixed data sets ranging from quantitative, qualitative to geo-referenced data. Over the past 10 years, we have designed, deployed and integrated digital or smart technology applications such as KOBO, ODK, Google forms, geo-maps, open data qualitative software including Atlasti and Nvivo as well as e-cloud management software such as one drive and SharePoint to provide real-time data management and analytical experiences. Our smart digital tools for research data management has also integrated power BI that allows visualization of data in form of graphics and content themes for key output metrics.
The digital technologies have integrated tested data quality control features for the fragile context in Somalia including but not limited to triangulation of field photos using GPRS codes, access, security and privacy controls, analytical measures, remote supervision and validation systems among others.
In addition, HPRD provides a comprehensive data analytics solution, specializing in both qualitative and quantitative analysis. Our SMART digital applications leverage a diverse range of software tools and innovative approaches, including SPSS, R, Excel, Python and Nvivo, to conduct in-depth analysis and generate meaningful insights from mixed-methods datasets. HPRD possess the capability to effectively analyze large-scale and complex datasets - quantitative and qualitative.
Our team of experienced analysts applies rigorous statistical methods to quantitative data, performing regression analysis, descriptive statistics, and data modeling to uncover patterns and trends that inform policy and programmatic practices tailored to client needs. For qualitative data, we employ various techniques such as thematic analysis, content analysis, and discourse analysis, utilizing software like Nvivo to facilitate efficient coding and exploration. Our integrated approach combines both qualitative and quantitative findings, allowing for a comprehensive understanding of the research objectives. Our reporting capabilities encompass clear and concise data visualizations, dashboards, data driven narratives and interactive reports, ensuring stakeholders can easily grasp and interpret the findings.
In particular, we implement a 5-year project funded by USAID that provide SMART data analytics solutions to local government and actors in northern counties in Kenya under reliance learning programme articulated in Table 1. The program uses data analytics to uncover contextual-adaptive and innovative models or initiatives that contribute to local resilience while adapting to contexts
