Assessing the feasibility and strengthening of contract farming in Afgoi Lower Shabelle

The project aimed to promote contract farming in Afgoi district of Somalia by conducting a reconnaissance study of farmer readiness. It also developed strategies for implementation. The study included mapping agricultural value chain support service providers, financial institutions, and potential market linkages. It also involved developing strategies for building farmers' capacity, creating sample agreements or contract prototypes, and establishing monitoring and evaluation mechanisms
