River basin analysis conducted to develop institutional capacity for water resource management. GIZ, with support from BMZ implements programs in Somalia aimed at institutionalizing sustainable management of water resources through the Integrated Water Resources management (IWRM) approach. HPRD in this assignment was contracted to conduct a river basin analysis and hence develop institutional capacities for the management of water resources, Improve technical staff capacities in the application of hydrological techniques for collection and utilization of data Integration of satellite data and strategic gauge stations to improve monitoring Management training on different aspects of sustainable water resources management Improvement of coordination mechanisms among water sectors .
